Your right to representation in franchise negotiations California Business & Professions Code section 20999.2 provides that "No petroleum distributor shall deny to any gasoline dealer or prospective gasoline dealer the right to be accompanied by counsel or a personal representative to any meeting held between the parties for the purpose of negotiating the terms of a franchise." This means you may have your lawyer or another person attend any such meeting with you. Don't believe it if your sales rep. tells you that you cannot have a lawyer, consultant, or help you when you want such assistance. |
